For the second consecutive week, graphite shafts designed by United Sports Technologies (UST®) were definitively declared 'No. 1 on the PGA Tour.'
Well-known for calculating the equipment usage on Tour, the Darrell Survey reports that UST-branded graphite shafts were the most popular graphite shafts among PGA Tour pros at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss. According to the survey, UST® led the wood shaft brand count with 70 graphite shafts in play, while shafts manufactured by Fujikura, Aldila and Graphite Design fought for also-ran positions.
"It's great to be number one on Tour, and it's even greater to maintain that momentum in consecutive weeks," says Gene Simpson, vice president of marketing and sales for UST® brands. "Everyone at UST has worked very hard to get here. Our engineers and designers, our tour reps and our graphics guys all played a part. For UST shafts to be selected by so many great players is terrific, and even though we're getting use to being on top, it is still nice to get a vote of confidence from the players each week."
United Sports Technologies makes graphite golf shafts for golf consumers and many original equipment manufacturers, such as Nike, Tommy Armour, Sonartec, Wilson Sporting Goods, Hogan, Spalding, and many others.
