United Sports Technologies continued its championship pace by adding five more Top 10 finishes to its record-breaking total for 2004. Top positions — including one second-place finish at the Michelin Championship at Las Vegas — on the PGA and Nationwide Tour highlighted a strong week for UST players.
Among the pros in the top seven money positions at the Michelin Championship, three played with UST graphite shafts in their driver and woods. Of those, all four UST brands were represented: ACCRA®, Harmon Tour Design (HTD®), Proforce and the high-performance IROD® hybrid shaft which remains the No. 1 utility shaft on Tour.
“The IROD hybrid shaft is blowing everyone away on Tour,” says Shawn Mullin, PGA Tour representation for UST. “Since its introduction in January, the IROD has won over new players every week and that’s a big accomplishment, especially when you consider what it takes to make a professional golfer put a new shaft in their bag. IROD’s playability is going to make a lot more converts before the year is over.”
United Sports Technologies makes graphite golf shafts for golf consumers and many original equipment manufacturers, such as Nike, Sonartec, Ben Hogan, Tommy Armour, Nickent, Wilson Sporting Goods, Spalding, and many others. UST also produces and distributes such world-renown graphite shaft brands as Proforce®, ACCRA®, PUREGOLD®, IROD® and HTD® (Harmon Tour Design)® which are played in more than 100 tour events on the PGA, SPGA, Nationwide and European tours. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, UST operates four manufacturing facilities throughout the world and produces more than four million graphite shafts a year for original equipment manufacturers and custom club makers.
