UST Mamiya Proforce VTS Used by Winner of Champions Tour's ACE Group Classic

FORT WORTH, TX – February 22, 2012 – UST Mamiya, maker of the world’s finest carbon fiber golf shafts – reports the winner of the Champions Tour's ACE Group Classic relied on the Proforce VTS shaft in his driver (VTS Silver 6 x-flex) to earn his first victory of the year.

The champion carded rounds of 64, 62 and 70 (-20) while picking up his 1st win of the year and moved to number four on the Charles Schwab Cup Points. He averaged over 306 yards for the tournament, ranked 2nd in driving distance.

“UST Mamiya wants to congratulate the winner of the ACE Group Classic,” says Robb Schikner, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The Proforce VTS proves that torque does change everything. By adding a 3rd dimension to fitting (torque, weight and flex), we can fine tune professionals and amateurs alike to maximize distance and control.”

All UST Mamiya carbon-fiber shafts are made using handcrafted, repeatable production techniques that incorporate world-class engineering and premium-selected raw materials. This combines with tight tolerances, constant taper design and low-resin content to enhance feel during the golf swing.

The company produces a variety of shaft models, including the renowned Proforce and ATTAS lines, which have received significant usage on major professional tours internationally. Paralleling its achievements at the professional level, the company’s shafts have remained the top-selling aftermarket option in the United States the past five years.

Knowing that every golfer who installs a new shaft will also need a grip, UST Mamiya offers a line of premium offerings, with groundbreaking new models being introduced in 2012. They include the Tour PC, Soft Touch, Comp DV2 Torsion, Pro DV2 Torsion Cord, and ST1putter grips.
