FORT WORTH, Texas — Delivering accuracy and distance control in cool, windy conditions, UST’s IROD® hybrid and Proforce® V2 graphite shafts delivered a weekend punch that helped subdue a challenging Augusta National course.
The 2007 Masters champion used an IROD Tour Hybrid Utility 90 CB shaft in his Titleist 503.H utility club to fire a final round score of three-under par (69) and win the coveted Green Jacket. Meanwhile, the runner-up also shot a final three-under-par round playing a 66-gram Proforce V2 shaft installed in a Nike SQ Sumo fairway wood.
“Some of the world’s best tour players rely on UST graphite shafts in their woods and utility clubs every week on the PGA Tour, and UST shafts were clearly visible this week in Augusta,” says Stacey Benvenuto, tour representative for UST. “The Proforce V2 and IROD both excel in performance and consistency, and both shafts are extremely popular on the world’s top tours.”
UST continues to lead in the graphite shaft industry with innovative technology, and that’s why world-renown pros such as Jim Furyk, Davis Love III, Rod Pampling and Cristie Kerr – among many others – put their trust in UST high-performance shafts.
