FORT WORTH, Texas — Graphite shafts designed by United Sports Technologies® (UST) won first- and second-place at the Albertson’s Boise Open Presented by First Health on the Nationwide Tour, with the IROD® Hybrid shaft taking the top honor.
The 31-year-old Australian champion outperformed the competition playing an IROD Hybrid shaft in his Sonartec MD hybrid club and a UST Proforce Gold IT shaft in his Sonartec SS03 3-wood. A growing favorite among Nationwide players, the IROD Hybrid shaft remains the most widely used hybrid shaft on the PGA Tour.
“We congratulate this year’s winner of the Albertson’s Boise Open on a great victory,” says Shawn Mullin, PGA Tour representative for UST. “Hybrid shaft design options have increased greatly over the last year for both woods and irons, and it’s very rewarding to see that pro players around the world recognize that true hybrid shafts feature very specific design characteristics which maximize hybrid club performance.”
The most-winning hybrid shaft on the PGA Tour, IROD Hybrid shafts are specifically designed to expand the playability of long irons, hybrid utility clubs and fairway woods, and are becoming more popular on professional tours and at courses across America. IROD shafts deliver spectacular playability and make fairway woods easier to control and long irons easier to get airborne. For example, the IROD fairway shaft produces a tight shot dispersion, while the IROD hybrid utility shaft technology focuses on maximum distance control. The IROD long-iron shaft is specifically designed to put the difficult to hit 2-, 3- and 4-irons back into your bag by producing a high trajectory shot from the most difficult lies.
