FORT WORTH, Texas — From the first fairway on Sunday, the Proforce V2 by United Sports Technologies (UST®) delivered the ultimate performance and sealed an easy victory in the Chrysler Championship at Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort, Tampa Bay, Fla.
On Sunday’s very first hole, this year’s champion hit a 3-wood to within 20 feet of the hole to capture an eagle, giving him a lead he never surrendered. The 3-wood was a Callaway X-Tour custom-fit with a Proforce V2 graphite shaft by United Sports Technologies (UST®).
“This is the fifth pro tour victory in four weeks, and we’re very excited that UST shafts are making a winning difference for so many players,” says Gene Simpson, vice president of sales and marketing for UST. “In addition to this week’s winner, there were four more V2 shafts being played by the top six players at the Chrysler Championship. It’s this level of performance that has earned UST graphite shafts such a high level of trust among professional players. They know that UST shafts will deliver superior performance shot after shot, week after week, and give them the best chance of winning the top money.”
With its unique low-torque design, the Proforce V2 performs phenomenally well, especially with many of today’s larger driver and fairway wood heads that position the center of gravity further away from the shaft’s center line — a design characteristic that causes more twisting pressure on the shaft. However, the low-torque design of the V2 helps prevents clubheads from twisting open on impact and enhances shot dispersion.
Unlike other shafts on the market, the Proforce V2 utilizes a proprietary graphite fiber orientation to enable the shaft to recover faster when loaded or flexed and to give the shaft an incredibly stable feel in the golfer’s hands. Optimizing the orientation of the high modulus fiber for lower torque and enhanced flexibility, the V2 provides unparalleled stability and consistency, and balances the tip section for a medium ball flight with increased ball speed, while reducing spin for superior control.
