For the second consecutive week, United Sports Technologies (UST) is proven a dominant worldwide force in designing high performance golf shafts with, most recently, a win at the Australian Open and a second-place finish at the Shinhan Korea Golf Championship.
The winner down under carried the ultimate high performance Harmon Tour Design (HTD) golf shaft to secure victory over a talented international field. Notably, the third-place winner also played a HTD shaft in his TaylorMade r7 Quad.
Harmon Tour Design leads all UST brands with 10 wins, 43 top five and 80 top ten finishes on the professional tours in 2004.
“We designed the HTD to exceed tour tolerances the best players in the world demand,” says Gene Simpson, vice president of sales and marketing for UST. “In a fiercely competitive environment where pros have access to a multitude of equipment changes, the numbers clearly show those players who shafted with UST, particularly with the Harmon’s, stayed with that shaft over the course of a season simply because of superior performance through better technologies. And that is exciting.”
While at the Shinhan Korea Golf Championship, the second-place winner used the premium ACCRA T70 graphite shaft designed by UST in his Ping G2 and the classic Proforce 75 in his Ping TiSi Tech fairway wood.
United Sports Technologies makes graphite golf shafts for golf consumers and many original equipment manufacturers, such as Nike, Tommy Armour, Sonartec, Wilson Sporting Goods, Hogan, Spalding, and many others. UST also produces and distributes such world-renown graphite shaft brands as Proforce, ACCRA, PURE Gold, IROD and Harmon Tour Design which are played in more than 100 tour events on the PGA, SPGA, Nationwide and European tours. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, UST operates four manufacturing facilities throughout the world and produces more than four million graphite shafts a year for original equipment manufacturers and custom club makers.
