Ben Griffin’s Breakout Year Powered by UST Mamiya LIN-Q Shaft Technology

PGA Tour professional Ben Griffin has delivered one of the season’s most inspiring stories. He captured two Tour victories, rose to No. 17 in the Official World Golf Rankings, and earned a coveted spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

A key factor behind his performance surge is an equipment change: Griffin’s switch to the new UST Mamiya LIN-Q Power Core prototype driver shaft.

Since making the transition, Griffin has averaged more than 305 yards off the tee, highlighted by a 390-yard drive at the Valero Texas Open. His driving consistency has fueled a climb from 64th to 17th in the world rankings, unlocking opportunities that have reshaped his young career.

Griffin’s journey from mortgage loan officer in 2021 to Ryder Cup competitor in 2025 has inspired fans and caught the attention of his peers. A growing number of Tour players have also put the LIN-Q Power Core prototype into play this season, attracted by its unique ability to deliver explosive speed with exceptional stability.

“At UST Mamiya, our mission is to engineer shafts that elevate performance at the game’s highest level,” said Danny Le, Senior Director of Marketing. “Ben’s success with LIN-Q Power Core showcases exactly why we continue to push the boundaries of carbon fiber technology.”

As Griffin heads into the Ryder Cup, both his story and his equipment choice highlight the performance innovation that defines UST Mamiya.
