Nathan (Tampa) –
I had a hard time finding the correct shaft for my hybrids, especially after getting in better shape in recent years. Putting on muscle didn’t just change my swing speed, it changed my posture, my tempo, etc.
I was a pretty good fit for Ventus Black Velocore HB, but just didn’t love the way it felt, so I went to Ventus Blue, it felt great, but was too weak in the handle, so wasn’t consistent enough. I tried Graphite Design Tour AD DI and had the same problems as Blue Ventus. Someone suggested I try Recoil DART, so I got the 85x’s installed blindly and although they had the feel, they just weren’t good on dispersion. Then reading some forums I discovered the TSPX line of UST shafts. I was just about to give up on hybrids altogether, but decided to give it one more try. Ordered the 100g TSPX Black for my 4 Hybrid first, and within the first five swings, I knew I had found my unicorn. I immediately ordered one for my 3 hybrid it was so good.
Guys, feel is very subjective so this is just my experience. This shaft feels like Ventus Black and Blue had a baby! You can feel the shaft load, but not so much that it feels unstable. My dispersion is the second tightest of any shaft I tested and was very close to first. Carry distance was tops amongst all shafts tested, and it has some weird combination of enough spin to stop on par 5 approaches, but when I use it a a tee club, it runs out a predictable amount. I was hesitant to pull out hybrid before making this change, but now I can’t wait to hit them and best of all no fear of hitting a big overdraw.
Thanks UST! Looking forward to trying your new Powercore White Driver Shaft
